Newscenter Media News Former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has been named head coach of Championship side Coventry City on a two-and-a-half-year contract.
At 46, Lampard takes the reins with Coventry sitting 17th in the Championship, just two points above the relegation zone.
He succeeds Mark Robins, who was dismissed earlier this month after a seven-year tenure, and marks the first managerial hire under Coventry’s owner, Doug King, since his January 2023 takeover.

This will be Lampard’s fifth managerial role, having previously managed Derby County, Everton, and Chelsea on two occasions.
Since his interim stint at Stamford Bridge ended in May 2023, he has primarily worked as a media pundit.
Lampard’s debut as Sky Blues head coach will be a home fixture against Cardiff City on Saturday.
