Efala, Boboye win NPFL Coach, Player of the Month award

Akwa United captain, Jean Efala and head coach, Kennedy Boboye have emerged winners of Player of the Month and Manager of the Month for March.

Efala, a goalkeeper, kept four clean sheets in five matches during the period under review.

The Cameroonian beat his teammate, Uche Sebastian, Liman Ahmadu of Sunshine Stars, Joseph Atule of Enyimba, Sunday Megwo of Abia Warriors and Samson Olasupo of Remo Stars to award.

Coach Boboye guided Akwa United to four wins and one draw in five matches in the month.

He beat off challenges from Rivers United coach Finidi George, Bayelsa United coach Ladan Bosso and Plateau United coach Mangut Mbwas to win the award.

It was the first time this season that a coach or player of Akwa United won the award.
