Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Peter Schmeichel has named Arsenal’s David Raya as the most improved player in the Premier League at the moment.
Schmeichel stated this following Arsenal’s 2-1 Premier League London derby win against Chelsea.
Raya has solidified his permanent status at the Gunners since joining the club in 2024 after an initial loan spell from Brentford.
“I did not understand when Raya came from Brentford to join Arsenal, because they [Arsenal] had Aaron Ramsdale and he was doing very well,” Schmeichel told Viaplay.
“I did not get it, and I was very critical at the time: you can’t have two number ones, you have to choose one, why do you bring Raya in?
“I think he is probably the most improved player in the Premier League over the last three seasons.”
