US President Donald Trump has said Democrats were criticizing the Iranian military operation because he was behind it.
Trump stated this in a post on his Truth Social media account on Monday evening.
“The Radical Left Democrats, a Party that has completely lost its way, are complaining bitterly about the very necessary and important attack, by the United States and Israel, on Iran,” Trump said.
“What most people understand is that they are only complaining BECAUSE I DID IT, and if I didn’t do it, they would be screaming — Why didn’t ‘TRUMP’ attack Iran? He should do it, IMMEDIATELY?”
“The fact is, whatever I do, they will be on the opposite side,” he said.
This is coming after Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, recently said the ultimate objective of the United States’ military action in Iran remains unclear to him as the Trump administration’s messaging continues to shift.
