Man Utd legend, Rio Ferdinand in hospital

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand was admitted in hospital as he missed Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Ferdinand was due to cover the Champions League semi-final second leg tie for TNT Sports.

The 46-year-old has worked regularly for the TV network since ending a playing career that produced over 700 appearances and six Premier League titles.

But the former England international shared a picture from a hospital bed on Wednesday evening, just a few hours before kick-off of PSG vs Arsenal.

Ferdinand appeared to be in good spirits and gave a thumbs-up to the camera.

Ferdinand then wrote on X: “Gutted to be missing the semi-finals this week on TNT Sports! Wishing the team all the best — I’ll be watching every minute from the iPad!”

Ferdinand won the UEFA Champions League in 2008 during his time at Man United.
