Terrorists destroy Mandafuma Bridge in Maiduguri

Terrorists suspected to be affiliated with ISWAP have detonated an Improvised Explosive Device, IED, on the Mandafuma Bridge, located along the Biu-Damboa road in Maiduguri.

The incident occurred on Tuesday.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert focused on the Lake Chad region disclosed in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.

Makama stated that the explosion completely destroyed the bridge, severing the link between Mandafuma Village and Biu town.

“This act of terrorism was aimed at disrupting movement along the route, impeding access for both motorists and passengers,” the security expert said.

Makama added that the incident also serves to hinder military reinforcements traveling through the area.
