Troops repel coordinated attacks on three Plateau communities

Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) and other security agencies have successfully stopped coordinated night attacks on three communities in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

This was contained in a post by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Friday.

“The affected communities; Rim, Angwan Wereng, and Cum came under attack by gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias between 10:50 p.m and 11:40 p.m on Thursday night,” Makama stated.

According to makama, the troops responded quickly to distress calls from the communities and engaged the attackers in a gun battle, forcing them to flee.

Sources told Makama that upon receiving the information, army troops along with other security agencies quickly moved to the affected areas and successfully pushed back the attackers.

As of the time of this report, no official casualty figures had been released.

However, the situation is said to be under control and normalcy has returned to the affected areas.
