Based on the first reports, there was a small fire that caused some damage to the building.
A big explosion noise was heard and fire was seen at the embassy early on Tuesday morning, according to reports.
Black smoke was spotted above Riyadh’s diplomatic area, where foreign embassies and missions are located.
Reuters cited two individuals who stated that no injuries were reported because the building was empty during the early morning hours.
The ministry was cited by the Guardian UK, stating that the country has intercepted and destroyed eight drones near Riyadh and Al-Kharj.
According to news reports, there were no injuries reported.
