Falconets striker ruled out for two months over injury

Falconets striker, Janet Akekoromowei will be sidelined for around two months due to a ankle injury, DAILY POST reports.

Akekoromowei sustained the injury in the first leg of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup third qualifying round tie against the Lionesses of Senegal.

Moses Aduku’s side won the game 1-0 courtesy of Kindness Ifeanyi’s second half strike.

The Bayelsa Queens star has already been ruled out of the second leg.

The 18-year-old has been linked with a number of top clubs in Europe.

Akekoromowei’s injury is expected to delay her move abroad.
