Newscenter Media News Google and Apple have reportedly warned employees who require visa stamps to re-enter the United States to avoid international travel, citing prolonged and unpredictable visa processing delays, according to Business Insider.
The report said law firms representing the two tech giants—BAL Immigration Law for Google and Fragomen for Apple—circulated internal memos cautioning visa-dependent staff against leaving the country if their ability to return relies on securing a new visa stamp.
In a memo reviewed by Business Insider, Fragomen reportedly advised Apple employees that, “Given the recent updates and the possibility of unpredictable, extended delays when returning to the U.S., we strongly recommend that employees without a valid H-1B visa stamp avoid international travel for now.”

A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department told Business Insider that American embassies are currently “prioritizing thoroughly vetting each visa case above all else,” a shift that has contributed to slower processing times worldwide.
The warnings come amid growing concern among foreign professionals, particularly Indian tech workers. Salon reported that hundreds of Indian professionals who traveled home in December to renew U.S. work visas have had embassy appointments canceled or rescheduled following new requirements for expanded social media vetting.
The uncertainty has heightened anxiety within the tech sector, where thousands of employees rely on H-1B and other work visas. Delays in stamping can leave workers stranded abroad for weeks or months, disrupting projects and personal lives.
