Former presidential candidate on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dumebi Kachikwu, has blamed Governor Siminalayi Fubara for the political crisis going on in Rivers State.
Speaking in an interview on Arise News, Kachikwu described the political situation as “a shame,” pointing out that Fubara failed to handle his political godfather properly.
He believes that Fubara knew the person of Wike so well and accepted his offer to sponsor him to become the governor and should not have turned against the Minister along the way for whatever reason
“So if you allow Wike sponsor you into office, if you choose to go down with the devil, you can’t blame the devil for who he is because you already know who he is.
“If you say you’re acting based on principles today, then those same principles require you to be honest and tell us the real situation in the state,” he said.
Speaking further, the former presidential candidate criticized politicians who run on a “change” agenda but have nothing real to offer to the people.
He said that Nigerians have been tricked many times before by the same crop of politicians.
“You can’t start a fire in a house and then expect us to help you put it out. Without a new group of Nigerians who have never been in government positions, real change will never happen. These people have nothing useful to give,” he said.
Kachikwu said that political talks should focus on finding answers, not just making loud promises, and urged people to demand accountability from leaders.
“We can’t keep letting professional politicians take control by promising they have all the answers. You are part of the problem,” he added.
