Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has challenged Nigerians to show him any road constructed before President Bola Tinubu’s administration which has lasted for 10 years.
Umahi gave this challenge on Thursday during a media briefing in Abuja.
He said that was the reason President Tinubu has introduced reinforced concrete technology to address the issue.
According to him, the road they are constructing now will last 50 to 100 years.
He said, “The President inherited very terrible state of our roads and bridges.
“And I ask anybody to show me a road in this country that was constructed before now and lasted for 10 years.
“This is very important. We do not desire that heavy trucks and vehicles will be parking on our roads and bridges.
“Roads and bridges are never designed for static loads. We are asking for troubles by allowing big trucks to be parked on our bridges.”
