Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has insisted that Arsenal will win the Premier League title despite losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City.
Nico O’Reilly’s brace on Sunday, saw City defeat the Gunners 2-0 at Wembley, to claim the first piece of silverware of the season.
The result has led to suggestions that Pep Guardiola’s men now have a huge psychological boost in the title race.
But Carragher, speaking on Sky Sports, insisted that Arsenal have a great advantage as they are nine points clear.
He said: “In terms of the Premier League, they’ve got a great lead.
“Yes, if they lose at Man City, it could be on. Of course, it could be, but if [the gap] was a lot tighter it would play into it a little bit more.
“Arsenal have been the best team in the league. They’ve only lost four games out of 50 [in all competitions], let’s not get too carried away, let’s not forget that.”
