FCT polls: INEC officials caught sleeping on duty as voters fail to turn out

Some adhoc workers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were caught sleeping at their duty posts in Saturday’s FCT area council elections.

The development was attributed to the low turn out voters, which left the adhoc workers with little to do.

DAILY POST reports that in many polling units, there were no voters in sight.

Low turn out of voters was observed at polling units in the Area 2 and Area 3 areas of Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

Videos obtained by our correspondents showed that most of the INEC workers involved in the election had little or nothing to do as voters failed to turn out.

However, the election officials will have to remain at their duty posts until 2:30 when voting will end.
